GTL issues with a G920

Hi Gents

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Just bought a Logitech G920 to replace the old faithful G25 and I can't get GT Legends to recognise 5th & 6th gears, not a problem with GTR2 or any of the new sims.

Things I've tried:
- updating the drivers
- uninstalling the Logitech Gaming Software v8.88.30
- even copied the control section from the GTR2 .PLR file to ghe GTL .PLR file without luck.

Any ( helpful ) suggestions?

Don't know if this helps but i've got a Logitech DFGT and it does not recognize the flappy paddles
only the stick shift, but I do get all gears with the stick.

Hmmmm.... i driving at 15 years with my Microsoft Sidewinder...
but its good...

Try downloading and installing 'Logitech Gaming Software 8.83' and see if that helps. You should be able to get it from Logitech themselves, if not let me know and I'll make a download available.

Thanks GeeDee, I gave 8.83.85, 8.70.315 and even 5.10.127 ( it didn't even recognise the controller at all ), but still no luck.

Strange, never had the issue with the good old G25.

Does it work ok in Gtr2 and other games ! ie project cars ect

It works in every other Racing Sim ( including GTR2 ) except GTL and it's only 5th & 6th gear.

Have you tried the 7th gear setup mod it may kick the software into recognising the stick ! I think I found it at no-grip.

Is it worth trying a fresh test install of GTL to see it works if it not I suggest its a driver / OS issue what is your operating system, run GTL with Win xp compatibility Sp3, also reinstall directX software drivers reboot see what happens. trial and error I am afraid

Did you try running the compatibility troubleshooter?

Properties / Compatibility / Run compatibility troubleshooter

Finally got around to trying a fresh install with the same results.

Tried the compatibility troubleshooter, again no difference.

I had a similar issue with GPL where many of the buttons weren't recognised on my G27. the Logitech profiler sorted me out until I had a brief foray into Rfacter and (Coincidently)?? the profiler hung up it's mortal coil and has never worked since..

I am now using "JoyToKey" ( http://joytokey.net/en/ ). As most probably already know it's a Joystick emulator which allows you to assign Joystick buttons to keyboard presses.. (At individual game level).

If all else fails it might allow you to assign your unrecognised Joystick functions to spare key strokes and then adjust the GTL options screen accordingly.

Got to be worth a try?
