| GD I'm not sure about adjusting body height for only in the showroom.
But for on the track the "RideHeightRange" line in the HDC file will adjust the height of the body without affecting the suspension geometry or center of gravity.
Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but maybe is of some help.

| The car is fine on the track: But needs to have the body raised in the showroom: Previous to the above pic, the car (in the showroom) had it's tires very close to halfway sunk into the flooring. GeeDee managed to fix that. Now he just needs to raise the body, similar to what you see in the first pic here. Hope that explains his problem a bit better. Thanks in advance... | |

| Maybe I should have kept the sunken wheels and tried to lower the showroom floor but I don't know how to do that either. I'll give that a try later. Wheel height in Showroom1.. To get the wheel height altered in the showroom I used 3DSimEd and put a .CAR file into it so that the car loaded. 2.. then right click on one of the wheels and the 'Edit Object Window' will appear (Hide all Shadows and Collision doobries first where needed). 3.. Under 'Operations' click on 'centre' and you should notice that under 'Positions' that numbers have appeared where there were just '0.000'. 4.. in this box you can move the wheels in 3d. X is for moving the wheels in or out from the body Y is for moving the wheels to the front or back of the body Z is for moving the wheels up or down in relationship to the ground Note that each wheel has it's own Edit Object that must be done. 5.. when you are happy with what you have done click on 'Update' near the top right corner of the box. 6.. save (export) to a new folder. 7.. in this folder you will have the new .gmt file for the wheels so you can update your .GTL or GTR2 file with them. I hope this explains it clear enough for you but please let me know if you have problems. Gee

| Well I'm an idiot !!!! For my problem all I had to do was lower the showroom floor !! To lower the floor- bring the CAR into 3DSimEd and just select the floor_expo.gmt (or whatever your floor is called) - edit the object - same way you did to the wheels. except lower the floor All good, thanks Gee Maybe if you do undo your wheel edits and just lower the floor you might be all good. Worth a shot eh ! | |

| On the spinner the car is just a graphic and not affected by the hdc file. If the off road version uses it's own cas file the easiest way is to add 'EXPO' versions of the body and wheels for the Spinner and Expo in the cas file instead of using Chassis A so you can adjust these to sit at the correct height in 3dSimed.

Actually, this is exactly how I do things. I have a complete separate set of wheels for the showroom called wheel_expo.gmt that I combine from the separate wheels and spindles and axles etc... My problem car was a quick and dirty rfactor to GTL conversion I did a while ago and forgot about it until Gee's problem came up - which reminded me of this car I thought his solution for the sunken wheels may have been an HDC edit..I wasn't thinking and I'm still a bit of a newby For me the quick fix was to lower the showroom floor........ But your advice is a very elegant solution erm....over to you Gee

| Gee, make sure it says 'Reflect=True' after the EXPO_WHEELS bit in the cas file.

Thank you for the help it's much appreciated!! However, I now have a new problem... the wheels and the reflections of them cross over and I can't find how to fix this. I have tried raising the car and lowering the floor but it still occurs. Can you help me with this also m8 please? Picture below: Thank you, Gordon

| In the .cas file, upper part:
REFLECTPLANE=(0.0, -1.0, 0.0, -0.05). Change the -0.05 to -0.2 or so
I hope that it helps, GeeDee.
