Hello everyone! In a couple of days we officially kick off season 2 of the 944 Spec Racing Championship at Mid Ohio. In the open test session held at Barber Motorsports Park, we debuted our new server and it performed like a champ, providing us with our best stability to date. Our new gearbox also debuted at the open test in grand fashion with all participants beating their personal best times from last season's races, and 3 of them obliterating the Lap Record that is currently held by dah72094. All of that just over some gears.
Event 1 (rounds 1 & 2) will officially get underway Sunday night with the first official practice session of the season, which will start at 7:30PM. Then Monday night we have Practice 2, then of course, Qualifying and the races. A change was also made to the standard event schedule for each week to shorten the night some. While the target race length will remain the same, we have cut the second qualifying session out of the equation. In all events for season 2 which feature 2 races, the grid for the second race will be set by fastest lap times from race 1. And that is even more important than it sounds, as we had added bonus points into the mix, some of which being for the pole sitter. So even if you have a bad race, you can still score a Pole for race 2 and the bonus points that come with that to help cushion the blow.
