What a shame---I'm sorry for you BorekS and his family of course---you and he have created great mods together and we all appreciate them.
I wish I had known him---having a physics guy that you have confidence in is a real plus in the development process of any mod.

I just read about this on Trackaholics, where I wrote this...
Oh dear dear, such a great shock and loss to the GTR2 & GTL communities. I am shocked and so sad, my feelings are with his wife, who he married just recently and their teenage children.
Carsten was a good friend of mine, a great guy who enjoyed doing the physics for cars so much and loved life. He told me a month or so before Christmas that he was going into rehab for the second time to convalesce after having survived an operation to remove his bowls and have them replaced with an artificial one.
It was almost a year ago when he told me he had cancer and just a week ago when I last sent him an email to ask how he was doing. I just wish he had been able to have written to me, so we could have had one last conversation.
His father had his bladder removed 26 years ago and replaced with an artificial one and is still alive and well. Carsten suffered quite a few colds and health problems before he was finally operated on and afterwards he was very weak, my poor friend has suffered so badly, at least now he is at rest.
R.I.P Carsten, I will always remember you my good friend.

This is terrible news.
Carsten and I have worked closely together on a few mods in the past and were in the middle of a project when he lost his fight against bowel cancer.
He was a wonderful guy, very positive and helpful to work with and had great passion for our driving sim hobby.
I will miss him and his influence on me but he does leave behind a legacy of work through his contribution to GTL/GTR2 modding.
My deepest condolences to his wife Conny and the rest of his family.
R.I.P Carsten, you shan't be forgotten.

Wow, cannot believe it! Very sad indeed to read about something like this. I don't know anybody personally, but he's one of the guys who were already active members when I created my account here and, for me, the community here it's like some sort of family after 8 years, so even more sad to know that some guys will never log-in here anymore.
R.I.P. Deep-Strike!

It's really sad! But, unfortunatelly it's not the first time we loose some great fellow, and won't be the last one! My respects to this very kind guy, aka Deep-Strike. Cheers, Carsten! PS: some, like magic, they simply disappear, carried away by fairies and gnomes, like our friend MOF, of whom we have never heard.

Hello, it's really good to see so many people keeping Carsten in good memory. For me he was not only an admin-colleague of the Altbierbude, but a real friend.
Today exactly one week ago I was at his funeral and that was one of the saddest days of my life.
On 24.12.2018 we still spoke, his values had improved and he was optimistic...11 days later he was dead, I can still hardly believe it. Cancer is a real assh...
At least on Friday we were able to release his last two finished projects on the Altbierbude with the help of Ole/CY33, I would have wished so much that he could still have experienced it. :-(
That brings me to something else, our common dream was always a Formula 1 MOD from the 70s for GTL and the Altbierbude. I know that Carsten worked on it with someone, but the MOD will probably not be finished any more. So we thought about converting the F1 71 MOD, which he adapted for our Power&Glory sister site Festbierbude, to GTL, with the adapted physics. That worked out well at first, but now I don't know what to do, unfortunately Carsten was the only one in our community who knew about the physics. The converted mod runs smoothly on GTL, lap times are almost identical, tire wear too. But: I have a terrible bumping in the cars, especially on the front axle and I have no idea where to start to fix it. I suspect that springs/suspension and tyres in GTL simply behave differently and you would have to change values. I've been sitting on it for 6 days now and can't get any further, nothing I change fixes the problem. Could someone help us? We'd love to bring the P&G MOD to the Altbierbude, for us it's kind of one of Carten's babies. Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.
Sad greetings
MichaW

It seems to me I raced with a fellow named Micha on the "Bude a number of years ago. I wonder if it's you MichaW.
As to the physics ---I've done physics for quite a few mods now---Sportscar 50's mod and a few others----if you would like me to take a look perhaps I can fix it.
I've already posted my regrets on Deepstrike's passing.
