Hi guys, While Greeg7, Sozew and Toto are working on the 1602 and 2002, I decided to take the Legacy of BYL BMW 02 series mesh and turn it in to 1970 1600 TI.
Here's early sneak peak video of it:
Lots of stuff still to be made, but I have so far converted and fixed correct 13" wheels for it, added some 3D details, made beta version of template to it, etc. Physics have been waiting rest of the car from 2018-2019 already.
I have heard that Toto is doing some great skins for ex-BYL project cars so as soon as I have all three bodystyle mappings and templates done, I'll drop a link of beta car and templates to Toto's PM box.
Target for release is before next season of UKGTL's Nogip Legacy HTC starts so that means somewhere in February.

Car has now reached 0.8 beta stage. This mod did got bigger while doing it and it will incorporate both 1600Ti and 2002Ti. Both will be representing Group2 cars in 1970, so 2002Ti for example will have around 200 hp. Greg7, Sozew and Toto are working with mod including 1602 and 2002 which means they are from 1971 and later and so provide much higher performance.
So, what I did after last post: - rescaled the wheels / rims once more. (2 styles having 3 colors each) - added 2002Ti/1600Ti eblems as genstring options - updated all three bodystyles with new chrome materials, removed 1602/2002 markings. - did new Mask textures for all 3 bodystyles and made some work to templates.
Stuff still to be done before I send the beta car to Toto and possible other skinners (Suti has said having some interest, but isn't sure about time. ) - two templates (one for bodystyles 2 and 3 & one for bodystyle 1) - genstring manual.pdf - placeholder physics for 2002Ti - example skin for 2002Ti.
Not that far away anymore.

Few more things to do before betatesters and skinners get their hands on this: - Gen string / skinning pdf guide - icon template - packing up the beta car.

car are now on fire in GTL and GTR 2 (In BLT mod)
And with the correct Body! On the first test the car is ok

There is still some differences in GTR2 with my GTL version as in my GTL version the chrome parts use own chrome texure, not the skinnable Body1 texture...
you can easily see the difference in the front grill and in rear lights.
However that does not affect in GTL skins, as long as my template will be used for skinning.

Actually the difference might be in lower LOD meshes as it seems to be ok in menu screens. I need to check them as well.

GTL version is the primary one. I don't have even GTR2 installed.

As you can see, the icons and vidwalls are still from original BLT non finished mod. I will create them when Toto gets things flowing with the additional skins.

Sutis and Toto's excellent skins included and final tweaks to physics applied.
Icons also done, biks and readme still to do before release. Not that far anymore.
