Thanks Loose Ether. It seems Japanese all girl rock bands are more popular than you might think.
Here's 1 I found recently which I probably listen to more than it good for me.

You mean others may think.......
And as a drummer, I always appreciate a drum solo.

Came across that video only a few days ago. Outstanding...
But a bit like the one below. (The title says it all). Are you sure they had enough drums looked a bit light to me.
The best thing ever to come out of Canada..

Awesome band and great medley I grew up listening to Rush through my teenage years and Neil Peart is right up there with my favourite drummers and was indisputably one of the best.
I've always loved this song.
RIP Neil Peart.

Rush and Led Zeppelin for me are the greatest witches off rock'n'roll. Pure magic.

Hey freeracer,
2 of the greatest bands ever for sure and I love them both ! But for me, there is 1 greater and will always be my favourite band.
Black Sabbath.

without a doubt, also my favorite ever ...The Wizards.. certainly it sounds heavier too .. is that Led and Rush have a differentiated mystical energy

Black Sabbath are also my No 1 band. Being bought up only 10 or so miles from Aston where Black Sabbath 1st originated they were gods to simple mortals such as myself.
Top Tenuous link..... I have one of Bill Ward's drumsticks up in the attic somewhere. It cost me a black eye at the Odeon New Street Birmingham during their Volume 4 tour. (Somewhere around 1974)??? We queued all night for tickets on a cold October night. I remember people setting fire to waste paper bins to keep warm. The drumstick came into my possession when Bill threw them into the assembled masses at the end of the concert. The rest is a bit of a blur, I don't think my black eye came from any malicious act it was just a free for all and I grabbed it hid it and left everyone to fight for the other one.
I'll probably be lynched for saying this but although I feared the worst when Ozzy left I think Ronnie James Dio did a great job of filling the void. It wasn't Sabbath anymore but tracks like Heaven and Hell were masterpieces in their own right.
I won't post a Dio/BS link so...

Dio was a gentleman, an evolved soul, and he helped to keep the band alive in 80s. Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules and Dehumanizer, all classics.

Great anecdote John, thanks for sharing. You lucky, lucky bastard 1972 was the release date for Vol. 4.
No lynching from me as the Dio Sabbath years were pretty damn good and to me it was still Sabbath. A bit like when David Coverdale stepped into Gillan's shoes for Deep Purple. I almost blew my load when I heard Gillan was to join Sabbath after Dio left but whoever recorded/produced Born Again needs/needed a good talking too. Great songs and a preview of what was to come with Tony's solo career (apparently he never wanted the Black Sabbath name associated with his first solo album but was forced to by management - Seventh Star by Black Sabbath featuring Tony Iommi - WTF !?!?!) but my god, the production on Born Again was awful. Absolutely loved the Dio solo stuff....mostly; the first two albums are classics.
Freeracer - David Allan Coe !! - hahaha - Certainly known for his, let's say, 'spicy' lyrics
RIP Cozy RIP Ronnie

Interesting list and I'll admit that there are quite a few drummers I've never listened to AND quite a few drummers missing from that list ! Where is Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, John Bonham, Cozy Powell & Neil Peart for starters ! Here are some more missing : Steve Gadd Dave Weckl Chad Wakerman Mike Mangini Mike Portnoy Bill Bruford JoJo Mayer Carmine Appice Simon Wright Tommy Aldridge
Plus a lot more that don't spring to mind right now.
And Geepuz, they even had the drummer from White Stripes in there !!
It was always going to be subjective.......
