| Well I am still working on my 356 coupe, after a few years with it dormant, it's the one I did for Rally Trophy but with a lot of work to improve it. As you will appreciate time is the issue with any project so hopefully the winter months will keep me in a state to move it along. A mini 1275GT is also on my list of things to do, the one with the clubman front end. I have a Twin Cam Escort too with the standard body but I haven't released it because there is already something similar on nogrip. The problem I have is wanting to create a cars that use the origional simbin format of four mesh detail levels so that stuff in the distance doesn't use up all the pc memory and cpu. So it takes me a while to do that. | |

I was wondering about this, and since your a modder, you might be able to confirm this, which you sort of have I've noticed that alot of new mods out recently are very detailed compared to the originals, especially with detailed skins(No problems,it looks wonderful ) Does this cause problems for the game engine that GTL uses at all It would appear that even though GTL is a relatively old game, with the high standard of mods,it seems still able to tax quite powerful PC rigs even now!? I was just pondering this the other day | |

| The level of detail used by some of the modders now is too high on the poly count to be using for the body a.b,c's, I believe the skill of making a mesh lies in creating something that looks more detailed than it is, this is why I sometimes download a new car and see how "fat" it is, if there is only one body mesh for a,b,c and d and it's too high on polys my pc wont run it smoothly, I then bin it, I consider this to be an oversight on the modders part. Hey we could all create the stitches on the upholstery and the welds on the rollcage as some people almost do but if people can't use it then whats the point, it's a case of modders showing off in my opinion. So yes it does matter about poly counts and the four body detail levels, i'm not sure that the skins present a problem as long as they are the same size as the origionals and the smaller versions of the tex files are included not just the ultras. | |
