"REQUEST" F1 CLASSICS 1967 OR 1969 MOD

Last summer I got a second job and I always arrived home really tired, so I had to postpone this conversion. I'll retake it one of these days, probably during christmas holydays.

I do appeciate your concern , but it's not like I'm missing. I actually log in the forum every day. What I don't have right now is 7-8 hours/day to mod, and that's why I want to use the holydays to finish the project.

joeschmoe and Loose Ether - You may find this hard to believe, but I really love the times when I'm sorting out meshes and cubemaps, or composing .cas files. I find it relaxing.

racerm - To have a well paid, nice job, where you can offer your best game and feel proud of yourself really is a privilege, but doing the job of three guys for a miserable salary, knowing they're going to fire you in a few months so they can hire the next loser... not so nice. Specially when you realize that you're not the first one, they fired those three guys before, older guys who will never get another job and they have families who depend on them.

Yesterday, I read in the news that there's a lack of tech talent in my country and the corporate bitches entrepreneurs, poor things, feel terrible for the situation. That's, of course, bullshit. What you're not going to find is talent for the money and perks they're offering, just like you're not to find a mint Ferrari 121 LM for 100 bucks. Offer enough and the talent will come to you.

Believe me Soze I have been in the same place as you, being taken for granted; especially when you consider yourself a professional and perform as one, can make anyone feel disgusted. I would overcome that by concentrating the pleasure I got in doing what I was doing and sitting those other corporate monkeys on the other side of my mind. Great to hear from you brother.

Loose Ether - Oh, don't worry, I will. Besides, I've been checking the Formula 1 1967 cars this afternoon and I'm in love with them. Did any of you, guys, take them to Spa 1967? It's the perfect track for them, IMHO. We need their younger brothers ASAP.

Zpectre - We all are valuable members. I can convert things, all right, but without the people who enjoy them, without the people who supports our efforts there cannot be a scene and converting becomes somehow pointless. Anyway, if you ever need some help, just let me know

Hi SOze m8. I'm sorry too that you are being taken for granted at work and the best thing to do is withdraw any extra support you give your firm that is not in your contract, an let all of them be aware of it.

They'll soon realise who does what around the place and you will get immediate respect from those who actually do value you. You may even start a trend that actually make people realise who the good and the bad guys are.

Good luck m8 and you have nothing to loose by this from what you say and at least you will maintain your dignity.

I agree Soze, I can't stop driving these cars on Spa, I intend to update the track a little more with sounds as well. I plan to convert all the 1967 tracks (with upgrades) and release it in a track pack, that is how much this mod has got me excited. First I have to finish Redbull Ring. (almost done).

Also yes I would like to have the 1966 and 1965 Mods too, call me greedy.

Maybe it's the tracks that were driven in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1967?

racerm - You make my day . I love the '67 tracks because of their lack of unnecessary chicanes, long straights and clean entrances to boxes. They're fast and not so resource hungry. They look a bit empty, though, a bit outdated if we compare them with other tracks you converted and updated, so this is great news.

Thanks Soze. Yes to both of you Deep-strike I will be converting all of the 1967 tracks from that season, they were also in Rfactor pack. But Soze you are right, they will need some updating, I will be releasing them as I finish them instead of making everyone wait for a long time on the finished pack. Luckily I have half of them already converted, plus Shift2 made a couple of early era tracks; Silverstone and Monza from that same period that I will substitute into the pack as well. I have a deep library of models so a lot of buildings, grandstands etc. will be replaced with far better looking ones plus better textures.

Remeber Soze no matter who you are working for you are always working for yourself.

Well, people. I started the conversion before Christmas.

The cars are preliminary: the interiors haven't been processed, the drivers are the originals (no movement ingame) and no changes have been done to the physics yet, so don't get hurry: a lot of work still lays ahead of us.

Right now this is a test of concept for the .cas files I'm writing, one per machine (just like the original structure). I want to do them as light as possible so you don't need a big machine to race these babes. If the test goes all right I'll work on the other features.

BTW, I'd like to paint the original suits and helmets so we can have animated drivers, but I'm quite busy with all the other things, so if any of you, guys, could do them for me I'd really appeciate it.

There are four car configurations, for the races at Kyalami, Monaco, Silverstone and Watkins Glen, with cars heavily winged for the slow tracks, medium winged, and slightly/not winged with wider rear tyres for the fastest tracks. Every car uses exclusive parts plus some shared by the others (I'm talking about the same car model) and all these parts come together in the same .mas container, so the safest way to convert them is one at a time. When all the cars have been processed I'm gonna merge them by model.

Stunning absolutely, stunning! I have already converted 1967 Spa, Zandvoort, Mosport, Watkins Glen, Monaco and Mexico. I will start releasing these tracks (in their own locations folder) after I have made the enhancements to them. I want to only have to release them once. Some updates are small some are major.

Monza and Silverstone from Shift2; Norshcielfe-Nuerburgring, Kyalami, Le Mans Bugatti (especially) will need major overhauls.
