Jeanno, from my side, I never saw a version from this time. The oldest I know is from 1988.

I have a couple of RF1 versions, one i worked on myself and updated many years ago, Imola72 created originally by Ludo.
If you would like it i will post it, but will need converting.

Further to above i have just found a GTL  version 72 Imola by Cartoon, i had forgotten this one.

Great track - far better than the GTL standard one ( I hate chicanes ).

But I have one little issue concerning the AI: in private practice & in race mode the AI cars are between
20 and 30 seconds slower than me, who normally is one of the slowest drivers  

Is there a way to modifiy the AI strength for the track?

Take that as a bonus, the AI are making you look good.

drop these 2 files into 72imola and overwrite the existing ones. Perhaps take a copy of originals just in case the AI smoke you now.
Give them a try and see if it makes any difference.

Hmmmh - no, sorry, with these files the AI is even slower (about 35 to 40 seconds per lap, me in a NSU TT compared with a Capri Perana).  

The reason is that all AI cars are unpredictably braking on the straights

Yes, it's a great track so I decided to take a look at the AI. It turns out the AI line is full of dents making the AI to brake hard at many places around the track. Also the AI line hasn't got an optimized racing line and they are just driving in the middle of the track. And the garage spots are screwed up making the cars popping up outside the pits for qualifying. Also noticed some other issues like the road and ground are missing in the mirrors... I'll post an updated AI in the next couple of days.

Alright, I've now spent several hours on reworking and testing the AI, and they should now be a lot better than the original. I've optimized the AI racing line but at the same time making it possible for faster AI to lap slower AI which will always be a bit of a compromise but turned out really great in this case I would say. Also fixed the AI garage spots and made the track more bumpy as well as making all the armco posts non collision as it would cause any car to crash who ride along the barriers. One thing I didn't manage to solve is that the AI can't find their pitboxes and just drive pass them after a session or stint so one has to settle for shorter races only without pitstops. Would be great if someone would be able to fix that though. I also deleted many visgroups references in the .trk file to get all the major environment stuff visible in the rear view mirrors.

I made the update for GTR2 but included in the download are also GTL files although I haven't tested them in game as I don't have GTL installed. And don't forget to delete your 72Imola HAT file as I've made changes to the .trk file.

You're welcome but I think the one who really should get our thanks is forum member carTOON who built the track. He did a great job on it overall but I wonder why he left the AI so unfinished? The guy seem to be more than capable of creating a great AI judging by the latest preview videos of his Le Petit track. Anyway, it would be really nice if he or someone else would be able to fix the issue with the AI not finding their pit boxes after a session or race stint.

Of course Cartoon , my dear friend Lajos, deserves always the great applause because of so many great tracks he has done for us all. So, cheers to Lajos, Phil and "Bonnier" over this current track.

Track works perfect in GTL  

With its bugs 72Imola already was a good one, now it turned out to be one of my favorite tracks
