Imola pre 1973 available for GTL/GTR2

Hello everyone,

I have been having issues trying to get it to work in GTR2..

I changed the .gtl files to .gtr and used the gtr2 files from the update, but as soon as it starts loading it crashes.

I checked the trace file and it says how it is unable to load a global material

"vidman.cpp 1354: CUBE error loading TRK file USERDATA\LOG\tmp.TRK: Error loading global material BKAA"

I believe that is the problem but have no idea how to fix it.

I know this is a GTL topic but, any help would be appreciated. And thank you to all involved for making this track available!

Did you remember to delete the HAT file? Also, check again that you renamed the two .gtl files correctly to .gtr.

Yes I checked for the hat file and I don't think it was ever created because I was unable to make it load. And yes I double checked the .gtl files are both .gtr

Can you get the track to load without my updated files?

I don't have gtl on my computer, and I would need a refresher on how to convert the track with the .gdb and .trk file changes since I have not done it in a while if you don't mind

Just copy the following lines and paste it over the already existing .gtl lines in the .trk file:

MASFile=72Imola.gtr
MASFile=72Imolamap.gtr
MASFile=skies_south.gtr
MASFile=teammaps2.gtr

And then also rename the files 72Imola.gtl and 72Imolamap.gtl to .gtr. That should be it.

Still no luck even without your files and just a gtr2 conversion.

If it makes any difference I'm running P&G, not base GTR2 but I didn/t think that would matter. Maybe it does?

No, it shouldn't make a difference if using P&G. Based on the trace file line you posted earlier, my best bet would be that you haven't renamed and/or edited the files correctly.

Maybe you need the skies_south.gtl an teammaps.gtl files.............?

I used the simple edit method and it works fine in GTR2........

Feel free to include my updated files if you get permission from carTOON to host the track.

Guys, everyone is free to do anything, the track is not my property, I just put it together... Uwe from Altbierbude is also already working on an improvement to make it using to the sim racing community, to work online as well.

great news to see further work being done on Imola.I have it converted and running in RF2 with some further updates, it looks and drives great.Thanks for this great base to work with. It is not finished but i continue adding and changing.

I have those .gtr files, but I did notice that all of my working tracks have an additional MASFile line for misc.gtr. I added that to the Imola .trk file but still no luck. I also tried to put the .gtr files directly into the 72Imola folder but still nothing.

I also tried converting a different GTL track to GTR2 which was Aspern, but for some reason that doesn't work either....

Maybe I am doing something wrong? I did the steps that Bonnier listed many times but for some reason it doesn't work.

Here's my fully working and already edited entire GTR2 72Imola folder for you to download. Delete your current 72Imola folder and then replace it with the 72Imola folder from the download.

And to those 3 persons who downloaded the file within a minute after I posted it, download it again as the zipping process changed the name of the 72Imola folder.

Wow, looks like a lot of people had trouble "converting" the track to GTR2 as the zip has already been downloaded 13 times in just a couple of hours!

And again, don't forget to delete your 72Imola HAT file before starting up the game again.

nice to see so many of my mates here!

I'll start to do some final touches to Imola72, especially for mutliplayer usage (36 seats for our community races at Altbierbude).

Afterwards we'll publish GTL version at Altbierbude and GTR2/P&G version at Festbierbude ...

I've noticed a collision BUG with GTL, meanwhile it's OK with GTR2 ....

Maybe we need to put an invisible collision wall in front of all rails for GTL?
