Help please with Editing Folders for FIA Group 5 Cars only

Hi Guys
Can anyone help me please with setting up my computer with
Group 5 "Special Production Car" Event

Okay this is what I have done so far
I have edited below in my SIM_GTC.GDB Folder

Category

SIM_TC65 = FIA TC-65 // category that can be filtered out using NOT:
SIM_GTC65 = FIA GTC-65 // category that can be filtered out using NOT:
SIM_GTC76 = FIA GTC-TC-76 // category that can be filtered out using NOT:

BMW M1 ProCar = BMW M1 ProCar
SIM_GTC76GROUP5 = FIA GROUP 5 "SPECIAL PRODUCTION CAR"
}

Is this correct and what do I have to do to show just the cars I want to race in FIA GROUP 5 "SPECIAL PRODUCTION CAR"
I want to add the M1 BMW cars and other Models I have downloaded from here.
I am happy Donate $20 to the forum for help please.

I think there is already such a guidance thread here. Anyway you have to insert that code > "SIM_GTC76GROUP5", into the .car file of each car you want in. For example if you go to let's say the 935 and you want the 59DD in that class, you simply open the .car file and add to the class lines already written, this one. It should work.

It looks like your half way home. As DarkSide says, just add SIM_GTC76GROUP5 to the Classes line in each car file you want in the class.....

Classes="SIM_GTC76, SIM_GTC76GROUP5"

That should do it.......

Forgot to mention....

if you only want the car in the "Group5" class.......

I opened the file to change it and now I have them all showing in Group 5 but when I go to open the game it won't open because when stupid me saved the file I must have saved it as notepad and now all my .car files in my game are in notepad form how do I fix this up?

... well you should've just opened them with notepad. shall rename'em.

What do you mean by "notepad Form" ? The .car files are basically just text files with a .car extension.... Did the extension get changed, just "rename" them........

The game is running fine now, I have made a few custom race categories now like Group 5 and M1 Procars so they just race in there right category and not overpower each other. Just need to find a few more Group 5 cars.

Hey, if you have rf, I've just seen that in the DRM mod 2.0 we'll see a toyota celica turbo car. Thing is, Soze converted some drm mod cars to gtl but he probably will never get permission to release so... :-/

I only bought rFactor a couple of months ago, but jeez, there is SO MUCH stuff for that platform ! My first conversion attempt didn't go well, but that doesn't mean I wont try again......

im quite sad that drm mod won't get oficial approval to be released so we can enjoy all those awsome cars...

Yes, they really do belong in GTL, as much as I'm enjoying the new found eye candy that rFactor has to offer, I have gotten away with murder, stuff that would put you into the woods in real life, you can pull off in rFactor. It's not arcade feeling, like the console stuff, but if you understand, it's just a little "easier" GTL, IMHO is a superior driving sim.
I have tried to make a GROUP 5 class, but a good bit of it is made up of frankensteinish filler,(I'm no modder by a long shot), as there are only what, 2 or 3 true Group cars available for GTL.
Thank you to all the modders out there, we really do appreciate the time and effort you DO go through, as any of us with an inkling of intelligence understands just how intensive/time consuming the art is.......

Well we have the 935, the CSL Turbo and Lancia Beta. The others, 3.5CSL is too slow, so is the 320i and the Porsche 934. So yea, 3 Gr.5 cars, one Gr.5 car (as of 1976 standards), later Gr.4, the 3.5CSL was a Gr.5 car only in 1976 and the 320i was a Gr.5 of div 2... so a bit slower. I'm hoping Brickyard Legends team will start releasing their big shots (im not a big fan of these cars that look... almost the same with what we have but have other physics, yes I do respect very much the modders that do physics as it is a very hard to do and time consuming job, but I'd really like some all new cars !)

We should look at posting up here any links to cars skins that would suit the Group 5 category

Ah yes, the 934.... I have a couple that are putting out 640hp, just to keep the true Group cars in sight....., the 320, 565hp so the ai doesn't get too much in the way at Reims, true Le Mans, Spa67, etc..... Yes a bit unrealistic, but you have to come with up a grid......

There is a tool called "Toms Engine Shop" created by tomdoyle1948 that you can use to adjust the hp with......

Group4 GT-Cars are BMW M1 Procars,Porsche 934,Porsche 930 and others

Group2 Touringcars are: BMW 320,BMW 2002,VW Scirocco,Renault Alpine A110,Opel Kadett GTE,
Porsche Carrera,Alfa Romeo 2000GTV,Audi 80 Coupe and others.

Hope someday there comes some cars for GTLegends for DRM:Group 5 and DRT Group 4 and Group 2

I Work on a Mastership.GDB of the DRM from Session= 1980 with all Group 5,4,2 Entrys and Tracks for GTL and GTR2 but the great Cars of this masterchip failed for GTL and GTR2:
