| hi mates,
i've found this Spa 2010 track and i started to convert it by myself to GTL. The problem is, when i start a race, the game always crash at the beginning of the second lap. Unfortunately, nothing is written in the trace file so it doesn't help me..
So here it is, with all the GMT files of it, and i hope somebody will find the solution..

| nah sorry mate i'd asked for this one to the authors but the response was no.I even downloaded the track pack for RF2 but its so different from RF1 that i couldn't do anything.. By the way, this track is also "my" track for having lapped some times there and also saw many races. It has been a while i've been looking for a great version of the track,with real pitstands, real feelings on the different corners andi think this version captured it well | |

| Hello Ney, Thanks for the info, but we're talking about the current version (since 2007) with the brand new chicane (inverted : left-right now). First (since 1979 - short layout), we had the "Bus stop" (like in GP4) - left-right and a faster right-left. Then the entry of this chicane was enlarged (slightly turn to the rignt then a left-right). The "old" version from RF2 must be from the end of the sixties (14 km layout). The golden years... | Daamn, it doesn't CTD with some cars but with others it does! and i have no way to see wich one is "bad"...This is really frustrating me! When i finally find this great version, it doesn't work. Maybe it will work with a fresh new install of GTL.. | |

| Hi gege, Yesterday, i had CTD too, with the new Maserati 450S mod, but only with a race. In practice, no problem. An this with another track too. With a little luck, you can find the "bad" car, by trying to drive only few cars at once, but yes, it can be frustrating. And even with a fresh new install, once you put new cars, or mods, it can happen. So : step by step and many controls between new cars or mods. aah, and as reminder (i never saw a text about this but i often had ctd with) : no .rcd file in car folder. They belong to the Talent folder. Good luck. | |

Now, you could also have a look at the .ani file : in your trace file, there are these lines : AnimationLoa 24: AnimationLoader::Load(RFSpa2010.ani) AnimationLoa 39: Could not open RFSpa2010.ani I had these lines too in my trace file. And then : steward.cpp 1403: Could not find light "STLITE" steward.cpp 1403: Could not find light "PTLIT02" steward.cpp 1403: Could not find light "PTLIT01" I don't know what it means. I'm not a modder. But i had these lines too. For the .plr file, there is not necessary a problem, but you could loose what you've made before this race. | I will have a look at the track for you.. This line in your trace file- "Could not open RFSpa2010.ani" indicates the game is looking for animated marshals, if you have done marshals for it then there must be at least 1 marshal for each sector of the track, or you will get a CTD.. These lines- steward.cpp 1403: Could not find light "STLITE" steward.cpp 1403: Could not find light "PTLIT02" steward.cpp 1403: Could not find light "PTLIT01" Indicate the game cannot find the materials for the start & pit lights, rfactor uses different material names & also sequences for these.. | Look at that, i'm back before anyone else has made a comment! Had a look at the track, it's originally from Codemasters F1 Game. The pit\startlights were wrong, poor old GTL could not understand them, so i threw them away & added some more, i put an extra set further back for those of us who, after qualifying badly always start at the back Some materials were also named wrongly giving the "Quicksand Syndrome" I have put my truck in the carpark so you can see it's my fixes & not someone elses The credit should go to- gege46, he did all the hard work, i just did some "Housekeeping" Here's the link for the track- https://rapidshare.com/files/1338784992/RFSpa2010.rar This is a pic of my battered mini on- Lap 8... Some of the cars react to parts used in the pit\startlights, it is "Hardcoded" in the games .exe, so if those cars do not appear for a race then all is ok, but once they are on track, then the CTD's will arise, usually around lap2. Rfactor uses different material names which GTL\GTR2 does not understand.. Some examples- rdax= road (rfactor) dst= grass " wall= cement walls If you open the- specialfx.tec file with notepad you will see all the material names that GTL\GTR2 use & understand (it's in your "Locations" folder) Here is a pic showing "Quicksand Syndrome" this was caused by the Green surface being named- rdax.. | |

| Hi Rick, Thank you very much for the lesson ! All is clear now. I drove yesterday on your version : the result is the same as before : with LM55 mod (and with MB 300 SL), but without Maserati450S, all is perfect. As soon as i try to drive the new Maserati, CTD at the end of the "track loading" (where the cars are loaded, i guess). I suppose i have to search in the Maserati folder (in genstring or gmt, like you said before). What is curious, is that i had one time the possibility to drive a Maserati, but only in training. And in case of a race, i could sometimes "arrive" to the "start window" (where you can choose the settings), but when i tried to go to the settings :CTD. I must say the same thing happened in Watkins Glen. So, by me, it must be a Maserati car (wheels ?) problem. What do you think about this ? Thanks in advance. Cheers | |

| This track would CTD to a Windows WIN 32 error for me at the end of practice lap 2 until I changed my graphics option to full. Now its great ! | |

| Hi chap.. I only have 2 installs of GTL, 1 is totally default, the other has only the Gamers Crib Muscle cars in as i do a lot of testing for them. Most of my time is spent with GTR2 though.. Now, i copied my default install & then added this Maserati (it handles like a jelly on a greassy plate??) i thought the muscle cars were bad!! I did 1 lap in race, but as soon as i crossed the start\finish i was returned to my desktop Had a look at my trace file & the problem appears to be the pit animation cannot load with this car, (suspect wheels at fault) which is odd as only GTR2 displays the pitcrew changing the wheels?? I will put this "fat woman on a waterbed" car into GTR2 & see what happens there. Stay tuned | |
