He talks about this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_02_Series
And yes: I saw the WIP four door 1600 TI/SA too ages ago, but cannot remember the place.

I'm just curious but when you say 1600 TI, do you mean only the two-door, or also the four-door 'berlina'? I know someone was once working on the four door 1600 TI/SA but the project was ultimately canned.
I think you mean 1800 TI/SA, which was first of the Neue classe. It was presented in 1964 already. -02 series started with 1600-2 in 1966 and 2002 joined soon. in 1967 1600 Ti was launched as Group 2 homologation special for 1600-2.
In 1970 the group 2 rules were complete rewritten and need of homologation specials almost completely vanished as you could introduce quite big changes by just making 100 units of modification kits for standard car. (in reality, manufacturer needed to just claim that customer could order the kit if he wanted to... this led to very interesting stuff being paper launched like even 996cc engined Escort had BD style 16 valve head with dry sump system "available". Of course such thing was launched only in homologation papers allowing Ford to run 1 liter Escort in BSCC and no one outside the company probably knew such thing existed. So existant of those 100 kits could be argued in many cases.)
In 1971 -02 series got facelift and naming of 1600-2 was changed to 1602 to match the naming of 2002 and the 1600 Ti was dropped as the factory could have all the Ti racing goodies in basic model a lot cheaper than manufacturing special model to make them elligble racing.
1800TI/SA was works in Protobuilders' but ga2jo, the modeller, left the scene before the model was complete, so that never happened. It could have been great addition to TC-65 class. This new one goes to TC-76 with it's 70's slicks, just like the opposition in NoGrip Legacy HTC Championship are: 1970 Escort TC and 1970 Bellett GT-R
EDIT: So, if someone says seeing very nice 1970 BMW 1602, you know he is not really a BMW affionado. As such thing does not exist. before 1971, 1602 was known as 1600-2 or as 1600 2-door. Even I know this and I am not really a BMW fan.

I think this project will never be finished. How long is it going on now? It is just blowing hot air.

Great input there... useful enough to encourage anyone to climb out of real life and make something for free.
