| Can't fool you, uh?! It's the 500 TRC, another Inline.4 engine. Assembling the machine as we speak. Not that many will notice.... but spent like 1 day work just to modify the markings on the GTL tyres and create new markings! After all these, finally decided that a 15inch inscription tyre on a 16inch rim is a ''NO''. Also, fixed the old Englebert marked tyre (it had the Dunlop markings on it too!) and improved it too. It's hard to find good photos/logos for these vintage tyres so, time flies trying to make work what we got. _________________ Ferrari ... F1's soul since 1950

| This week's work for the 500 TRC. Decided to expand the tyre selection. Fully correct tyres, not just changed inscriptions of the Dunlop tyre. _________________ Ferrari ... F1's soul since 1950

| This is it, Ney! Plus, the Dunlop from the 50s: R5. I intend to create the CR48 Dunlop too, early 60s tyre (used in F1 too). The one we have in the game is CR65, mid-60s model. _________________ Ferrari ... F1's soul since 1950

| This might be a tough question to answer, but..... anybody knows why in the showroom the drum is not centered with the spindle?? The gap marked with red shouldn't be there. On track everything is fine. More exactly, like this: _________________ Ferrari ... F1's soul since 1950

| Does it need moving in 3dSimed so it sits right on the spinner? When it's on track the physics come into play so either the drum and/or wheel might be getting moved by the settings in the hdc file. | |

| @Zee: oh yes, everything is alligned in 3DSimed. This is the way I work. I'm making the suspension for the car and trying to make it kinda accurate too, and this problem appeared only now because it's the first time I decided to split the drum into 2 parts: the rotating part (working with the wheel) and the fixed part (attached to suspension arms). Might be a little nuts to go that deep into "details", especially that the wheels are covered and most likely nobody would have noticed the way the entire wheel+brake+suspension mechanism works, but decided to try it anyway. The problem is present now only in the showroom. I fixed it for on track action by adding the fixed part to the SPINDLE lines in the .CAS file. Previously, it was added to the CALIPER lines and it didn't work in synch with the wheel/drum. No, I don't think the HDC parameters are at fault, especially for showroom view. One way to fix it would be to duplicate the drums, 1 for showroom view and 1 for the track action OR (even better) duplicate and resize a little bit just the fixed part, and add the bigger fixed part just for track action, where it will cover the smaller one that will rotate with the rest of the drum. Thing is I didn't want to increase the size of the mod at all costs, probably I'll just let it be as it is if can't find another fix. _________________ Ferrari ... F1's soul since 1950

| Maybe a stupid question but why 3d modelling the suspension in such a detail while it's not vissible, neither in the spinner nor on track? It would be just a fps killer... | |

| @NEChris: it's not that much detail. Only the drums have more polygons, the rest of the suspension is GTL standard stuff. Then, it has a single 256x256 texture. GTL uses a 512x256 texture, then another texture (1024x512) for Ultra. _________________ Ferrari ... F1's soul since 1950

Hi Marian, thanks for the explanation Regarding the drum position, are you sure all pivot points are set right?

| In 3DSimed everything is alligned, yes. Zee might be right tho, there're lines with parameters for the SPINDLES in the .HDC and .SP files and dunno how to modify them. Then, I guess you're right too, not worth the trouble for something barely visible. _________________ Ferrari ... F1's soul since 1950

| I had this kind of problem. If all is aligned in 3DSimED, verify that you have value "0" in this HDC lines
FrontWheelTrack=0 // if non-zero, forces the front wheels to be specified track width RearWheelTrack=0 // if non-zero, forces the rear wheels to be specified track width LeftWheelBase=0 // if non-zero, forces the left side to use specified wheelbase RightWheelBase=0 // if non-zero, forces the right side to use specified wheelbase

This seems to be working the other way round though! Usually things are all aligned in Simed then move out of position when the car is on the track and the physics are applied. This happens often with the wheels if someone has set the wheelbase in the hdc to the real world one and not zero. In your case it seems the hdc is correct as the drums are ok on track but not the spinner so that would suggest there's some misalignment with the 3d It's an odd one mate but as you say it's not worth losing sleep over...
