Who here paints all cars?

What I would like to know is: who here paints all cars?

Good question. I must have done at least one skin for most of the GTL models out there, but I tend to stick to a few favourites. Usually the ones with not many skins already released.

I must also admit to modifying other people's skins if I do not like them (the skin not the person ). Some are too plain, a single colour and a number. So I'll maybe add some basic design and logos.

Others are too modern or 'loud' for GTL so I bring them back to the classic spirit of GTL. For example, I feel that an authentic GTL car should not have website adverts on it. I remove them and replace with something more suitable.

I have done a lot of this recently because I've found a couple of major sources of nice skins that are not quite right for me but with a little work, look very good. No secrets - one is the P&G Mod for GTR that has a lot of skins I've never seen released for GTL, where they really belong. NoGrip GTL->GTR skins is a similar source. Another was one of the onlione racing car packs. I forget which, but it had over 50 skins that were begging for some finishing touches.

Plus most have no icon & bik files so I make all those. So its not a complete rip off !

I have no plans to publish all these because it is not really fair on the original authors. However if the odd one sneaks out in a car pack here some time in the future I hope nobody minds too much! You'll do well to spot it

What do you mean by "all cars" ? all cars from GTL, GTR2... ? 1 skin per model ?

I have painted at least one of every car.... okay... maybe two.

If I have the game and mod, I can do requests if that is what you are asking

I also know how to paint skins, but I didn't publish until now, even though I am working on a skin that would be worth it.
I'm not good and not fast, but I think I'm learning fastly.

Okay, the reason why I put this question is: If you had interest in a painting contest? The question is worth but only after several log. With one or two participants are not worth all the effort. So who is interested should register here.

The theme can still be fully discussed. Whether a particular car or a particular class of vehicle, whether real or fictional. Everything is possible.

I would also help newcomers.

Actually, I'm an optimist, but I see some of the reactions that usually do not come. Accordingly, I think that probably are not interested in it.

But you can surprise me positively.

I can see no reason why we couldn't have a contest.

Anyone can join in, at any time... give members a bit of time to sort it out, and place entries.

Sounds like a great idea.

Some of the other sites I member at, do the same thing. No really big prize... just the satisfaction of participating.

We always get some outstanding entries.....

Is this who paints all cars in general? Or is this asking someone to do a project for you?

I dabble a bit but for my own stuff generally as I've not the skillls for other people's projects.
